Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens Perennial Days
Every Monday and Thursday, Mendocino locals have the opportunity to learn about perennial plants while doing something good for the environment. The gardeners host regular “health days” for the park. Volunteers from the community can assist in keeping the Gardens healthy and beautiful.
Volunteers will learn to identify and care for plants. They will be able to help theorize design plans and watch how the garden evolves and shifts as the seasons pass.
Those who would like to help will do things like weed, prune, dig, listen to bees and frogs, and breathe fresh air. They might obtain inspiration for their own gardens. They may even become adept at answering questions from our many visitors.
For more experienced gardeners, there may be opportunities for perennial bed adoption! And remember—you are helping not only the plants, but the many birds and insects that live in the gardens, as well as the overall environment.
Volunteer sessions are Mondays from 9:30 a.m. until noon and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. until noon. Those interested in volunteering can call (707) 964-4352 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com
