Green Bay Police say the man suspected of stabbing two women on the city's east side has been taken into custody in Marinette County.

Police say 38-year-old Eric Omdahl stabbed two women on Deckner Avenue early Saturday morning. One was stabbed in the neck and the other in the arm. Both are expected to recover.

Police say Omdahl then fled. Investigators believed he headed to either Milwaukee, or Marinette County.

Late Thursday night Green Bay Police announced he'd been arrested earlier in the evening following a tip to the Marinette County Sheriff's Department. The tipster said Omdahl had been seen driving in a rural area of the county.

A Marinette County Deputy checked the area and found Omdahl driving on Highway X in the Town of Stephenson.

Deputies stopped Omdahl and took him into custody without incident. The deputies discovered he had several stab wounds that and not been treated. Omdahl told the deputies that the wounds were self-inflicted.

Police say Omdahl is being treated for those injuries and will be held at the Brown County Jail on charges related to the stabbing incident.

Police say Omdahl is the only suspect in the case.
