Cheza Nami Foundation recently presented the richness of African culture and heritage through 'African Drumming and Dance Program' at Pleasanton Public Library.

Participants learnt about the influence of drums and dance on the African continent and participated in an interactive drum circle using traditional African instruments. "The program was a success. Participants learnt a few words of Swahili, a short song African dance and even got to play instruments and some African games," said Catherine Ndungu-Case, Cheza Nami Foundation.

Cheza Nami's core mission is to preserve and encourage the appreciation of African culture by inspiring and educating the American public about Africa’s extensive and unique attributes, regardless of their heritage of origin. The organization provides interactive, educational experiences through dance, music, art, play, language and African products.
