With a heavy mix of rain, sleet and then heavy snow throughout the overnight hours Wednesday, Feb. 29 and for most of the day hours, Marinette, Oconto and Door counties are finally digging out.

The snow was heavy and clean up was grueling. The strong gusty winds didn't help either. According to reports, somewhere between 8 to 11 inches of the heavy stuff came down with some of it melting when it hit the ground.

See some of the photos sent in from the area to get a feel for the impact of the snowstorm that leaped in on Leap Year 2012.
