Fort Bragg was abuzz with activity this weekend, as residents and visitors participated in Paul Bunyan Days activities. Over 20 events took place in celebration of Paul Bunyan Days.

There was a craft fair, a car show, bird and coastal walks, a horseshoe tournament, and even games for the kids. And then there was the food. Whether event goers wanted a simple hot dog, barbeque, fish, or dessert, no one left unsatisfied.

The most anticipated event took place on Sunday, when the annual logging show was held. Men and women participated in rigorous tasks to claim the prizes—and more importantly the coveted titles as the best and the toughest. Although it was a day of competition, the competitors displayed very sportsmanlike and supportive behavior. High 5s were a frequent sight among the participants.

The weekend was wrapped up by a parade held on Monday morning. Of course, Paul Bunyan walked in the parade. The Kangaroo Kort, a participant since 1939, was also in the parade. The Grand Marshall, Diane Stenberg, has been taking part in the annual parade since the very first one. This year, she wore a dress that her mother had made for her especially for a previous parade.
