Reported by the Marinette County Sheriff's Dept.

Joshua A. Johnson. 38, of Saukville, Wis. died in an ATV crash in the Town of Middle Inlet on Aug. 23, 2014.

Marinette County Chief Deputy James Hansen reports that Marinette County investigated an ATV crash on Bear Paw Ln. (Private Road)in the Town of Middle Inlet.

At 10:02 p.m., Marinette County Dispatch received a call of an ATV crash. It appears that the ATV operated by the lone male occupant was traveling northbound on Bear Paw Ln. when it failed to negotiate a curve and entered the ditch where it struck a tree and came to rest. The lone male occupant of the ATV was ejected and appears to have struck a tree; he was not wearing a helmet. The victim was pronounced deceased while in transport to the hospital via rescue. It appears that speed was a contributing factor.

Assisting the Sheriff’s Office were the Wausaukee and Wagner Fire Departments, Wausaukee Rescue, Bay Area Medical Center, WI DNR and Marinette County Coroner George Smith.
