January 26 is celebrated as Republic Day of India and decreed as an Indian national holiday. Association for Kids and Youth Programs and Radio Zindagi 1550 AM will host India's Republic Day celebrations on Sunday, January 29. On the occasion of the 63rd Republic Day of India, the Flag-Hoisting Ceremony will be held. The occasion is a solemn reminder of the sacrifice of the martyrs who died for the country in the freedom movement and the succeeding wars for the defense of sovereignty of their country.

6th annual kids and youth painting competition invites children ages 3 years to 15 years to showcase their talent. Participants may choose from any of the given topics like People, Places, Nature, Republic Day, Animals, Culture, Indian Dances, Indian Flag, Indian God and Goddess.

Public Speaking Competition and live performances by Bay Area's best singers will be the highlight of the day. Winners will get a chance to be on Radio Zindagi 1550 AM and possibly on TV Shows as well.

Bring your color and supplies; paper will be provided. Winners will receive trophies, awards, certificates from dignitaries from Fremont City, and State of CA. A participation certificate will be given to encourage all participants.

"This competition provides a platform to young kids for sharing Indian Values and learning about their culture. By creating beautiful paintings depicting Indian dances, Indian Flag they learn the importance of India's Republic Day," said Vinita Bhutoria, event organizer.
