After topping Clear Lake in the state team wrestling championship semi-finals Saturday (March 2) afternoon, Coleman dropped a close match in the finals against a gritty Lancaster team.

The loss in the finals, halted Coleman's three straight state team championship streak.

In the semis, Coleman won nine of 14 matches, but didn’t have any result in bonus points until Mason Mergener got a pin at 160, which was the first of four falls for the Cougars.

C.J. Pillath (220) and Coty Rosner (285) clinched the victory after Isaac Nowak was pinned at 195. Coleman topped Clear Lake 39-22.

Updated information on the final match will be posted shortly.
