A fundraiser to benefit the Wings Over Wisconsin program will be held at Ray's Boneyard Pub & Grill, 9089 D and B Frontage Rd., Lena on March 17 at 11 a.m.

There will be corned beef and cabbage served all day until it is gone. A Smear Tourney will begin at 12 p.m., and a meat and cheese raffle will begin at 1 p.m.

Wings Over Wisconsin began in 1980, as twelve concerned sportsmen organized the non-profit organization to reverse the decline of upland bird habitat in Wisconsin.

To date, that small group has grown into an organization with more than 4,200 members in chapters all across Wisconsin. The organization's key focus is preserving habitat and wildlife’s survival, so people from everywhere can enjoy it for years to come.

The group gets the job done in a variety of ways. One is working with private landowners to develop cooperative habitat and cost-share agreements. This produces improved nesting, feeding, and wintering habitat for pheasants, and other wildlife.
