Madelia Fire Captures Attention of Governor, State

A fire that has destroyed around a third of the downtown Madelia business district, according to some reports. In all, eight businesses were shuttered. The blaze took out several vibrant local businesses and Gov. Mark Dayton pledged support to help a local salon owner reopen in "temporary quarters" according the Star Tribune.

The Greater Mankato Growth organization pledged support by setting up a fund to help the victims in Madelia under the Madelia Strong campaign that has become a local slogan in the rally to support the small, yet very diverse community. FULL STORY
